We’re Here To Help You Heal
Everyone at The Cotswold Centre For Trauma Healing cares deeply about providing a welcoming, friendly environment where clients can feel comfortable, secure and empowered to embark on positive change in their lives.
Clinical Director and founder Dr Claudia Herbert has over two decades experience of running a private psychology service and heads a highly experienced team of people who believe in treating each client as a valued individual. With a wealth of clinical experience, our consultants do not rely on standard treatment formulae. We draw on a wide range of knowledge including the latest, research-based developments in psychotherapy and body-focused therapies. This enables us to tailor an individual package of care – often combining elements of several different therapeutic approaches – to suit each of our clients’ specific needs.

“My work integrates scientifically-informed therapies, such as CBT, with a holistic approach, allowing for the recognition of the interrelationship between our mind, body and soul. I am passionate about helping my clients move from ‘dis- ease’ into wellness, improved functioning and healing. I have worked in a wide variety of settings, including NHS, Charitable Sector and the Prison Service and as such bring a wealth of experience into the therapeutic work with my clients.”
Specialist Trauma Consultant, BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist, EMDR Therapist
“My work as a psychotherapist is very important to me and I am deeply committed and devoted to it. I believe it is an honour to connect with my clients, to be present with them, help educate, guide, process and empower them to live the healthiest lives possible.
My work as a psychotherapist is based in honouring and deeply respecting each individual and where they are in their lives.”
Specialist Trauma Consultant, CBT Psychotherapist, Accredited EMDR Practitioner
“I believe most psychological problems are more injury than illness: that trauma is the root of most problems – not only major traumatic incidents such as accidents, disasters or combat but also other less obviously traumatic experiences. I also believe that, as children and infants, we don’t always get what we need to develop into healthy, confident adults. Many of these types of problem can be addressed effectively with psychological therapies such as EMDR and CBT.”
BA, MA, Cand.Psych.Aut, C.Psychol., AFBPsS
“I aspire to be a mindful, embodied practitioner, with a genuine ability to connect, creating a safe space for clients to explore their inner world/authentic self, thus facilitating natural change and healing processes. I work with centering, boundaries and grounding techniques as a natural precursor for more in-depth work. I have a strong commitment to my own personal development, having completed individual body psychotherapy, meditation and yoga for over 25 years.”
