Cate Masheder
UKCP registered Integrative psychotherapist working with adults, children and adolescents, individually and in a family context.
All my therapeutic work is done at the Cotswold Centre for Trauma Healing in our Stroud service and it is personally tailored to each individual client.
My approach is theoretically integrative, evidence-based treatment including attachment based theories, trauma focused Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement De-sensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Embodied Relational Therapy (ERT) and Children Accelerated Trauma Treatment (CATT).
I have extensive experience of working with a wide range of psychological problems, specifically trauma and stress related issues including complex trauma involving dissociative features. I work with adults and children following abuse (physical, verbal and sexual) and also with the dying and with their families both before and after a death.
My Approach
I have a holistic approach to my work, allowing for the recognition of the interrelationship between our mind, body, soul and environment we live in.
All my work is underpinned by an atmosphere of safety, compassion and acceptance. I am dedicated to enabling people re-build their strength and personal resilience from within. This helps clients to work through and process challenging life experiences safely and opens an inner path to integration and personal growth.
I have worked in a wide variety of settings, including NHS, Charitable Sector and the Prison Service and as such bring a wealth of experience into the therapeutic work with my clients.
